Don’t forget about the full video review as well, which has a parody twist to it:

Presentation and Specifications

The Commander chair is a gaming product from Sanberg’s Esports Equipment line up that focus on gaming needs. It has the 640-81 internal product number.

Then it has the following specs:

– Max load: 150 kg
– Black and red superior PU leather
– Iron frame
– Height adjustable armrest with soft PU surface
– 80 mm class 4 gas lift
– Recline and height adjustable
– 1 removable cushion for neck
– 1 removable cushion for back
– 5 legs / wheels
– Seat dimensions : Width 50 cm, depth 53 cm
– Back dimensions: Width 59 cm, height 84 cm
– Total height: 132 cm
– Box dimensions: 83 x 66 x 34 cm
– Net weight 19 kg / Gross weight 21 Kg

So it is pretty beefy also has an iron plate in the base of the chair and it’s made from PU leather – has many names from Bicast leather, split leather – which is a material made with a split leather backing covered with a layer of polyurethane (hence the term “PU leather”) that is applied to the surface and then embossed.

Offers multiple adjusting points and they even claim that you can even sleep on it. Nice.

Let’s put our ‘IKEA build hat’ on and assemble it.

Packaging & Visual inspection

You will get of course, a big box. If you saw the video you saw exactly what I mean. It has the Sanberg classic design and layout with a black background which alternates with some blue thunders.

Chair_1

Everything inside is covered and protected via foam, plastic wraps and bubble wrap.

Chair_2

Besides the top and bottom sections, of course, we have:

Chair_3a

– 1x Adjusting mount
– 2x Side arm rests
– 1x Supporting star frame
– 1x Adjustable piston
– 5x Wheels
– 2x Sandberg stickers
– 2x Side covering brackets
– 1x Allen wrench
– 1x Phillips wrench
– 4x Plastic caps

The build process (the video covers that part) was a breeze with only a minor problem; it came with the wrong instruction manual. Either that was a generic guide or a small mistake. Anyway you can’t go wrong because only the mounting screws differ – in the Commander you only get big Allen screws and small Phillips screws. Job done.

And here it is: the Sandberg Commander Gaming Chair which is ready to rock. The racing design is striking with the all red stripes and the shape of bucket seats.

Chair_5

Speaking of, the removable top crushing and racing inspired seat-belt routing.

Chair_8

The brand logo is present on the head rest and both pillows.

Chair_6

Excellent stitching routes and consistency even around sharp bends/angles. Notice the hight adjusting handle on the right side.

Chair_9

Both armrests have adjustable height as well. They have a slight wobble but nothing too bad.

Testing & Impressions

In the video review we covered all the essential points because this is a product for which a visually perspective makes more sense. If a picture means up to 1000 words, then a video is …

Nonetheless here are the impressions and feedback:

– All the controls are in handy location and very easy to operate
– The gas lift is smooth and secure when it transitions from level to level
– Great lumbar and neck support via the attached pillows
– Greatly improves you natural position to keep your back at the correct angle even though you are not using the back rest
– We love the 180 degrees reclining feature – great for quick siestas
– A lovely design, of course a subjective aspect but still an eye catcher nonetheless, with the bucket racing seat allure
– The adjustable armrests offer even more adaptability to any desk height
– Offers a high level of stability from a feeling point of view

Conclusion

We love companies like Sanbgerg that strive to perfect their line up with every release. They also offer a entry level version with no leather nor cushings for a lower price – the Warrior

With the Sanberg Commander Gaming Chair you will get a lovely experience of comfort, ergonomics and easy of use that will elevate your gaming or office sessions to a whole new enjoyable and even safer levels. For the price you can’t go wrong with this choice.

The Good:

+ Adjustable armrests
+ 180° reclining and 360° rotation
+ Easy installation
+ Greatly improves your desktop working/gaming experience
