Visual inspection
Comes in a 400g and 27.00 cm (W) x 18.50 cm (W) x 6.00 cm (D) transparent box.
Simple and elegant design choice, so you can clearly see the product.
On the back we have the specs and a small product description.
Opening the box, the headset is nicely nested in a plastic mold.
The accessories are the following:
1x microUSB-USB charging cable
1x 3.5 mm Jack M-M
1x User guide
Let’s now focus on the headset which is very elegant !
A soft yet grippy rubberized plastic material which is very nice to touch.
On the left side there is the Sandberg logo engraved on a very nicely metal finish plate.
The right side is where we have the controls:
Volume Up/Down
Next/Forward
Answering key
Zooming in we see 2 LEDs – blue for on/off and red for low battery.
Even more interesting we have voice notification for the above as well.
The top view has another excellent design detail.
On the other side, we see excellent head padding.
Then the ear-pads which are very comfortable made from leather.
They hold 50mm Neodymium drivers.
Also here we have the charging microUSB port and the 3.5 mm jack aux port.
Both sides have adjustable levels.
And one more trick up its sleeve, foldable design, the ear-pads swivel into this position thus making the headset even more carry-friendly.
How we tested
– Connected it to our test PC via the 3.5 mm aux and then via a Bluetooth adapter, while watching a movie and playing games.
– Then connected it to our Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone and listened to music
Results
– Charging time is around 4 to 5 hours – the red LED stays on during this period
– To connect it via Bluetooth just long press the Answer key and it will automatically appear in the scan list of your destination device. It supports Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR. Usually the sync password is 0000.
– There is also support for NFC technology for activating contact.
– No quality loss up to 10 meters distance we discovered
– We managed up to 9-10 hours of playback until it asked for juice, up to 13 hours of talk time and ~ 250 hours of standby time from its 380 mAh battery
– Regarding comfort we were amazed because having leather in the ear-pads one can presume in hot whether things ca get sweaty but being so light and soft we didn’t encounter any discomforts.
– Even after 3 hours of non stop usage we barely notice them
– Another interesting fact is that you can still be self aware of the surrounding noise while not disturbing your primary focus
– The sound quality and immersion experience is top notch.
– At the bottom end the bass rumbles away and thumps your head as you raise it up. The mid range is a little recessed, but not to the point that it really detracts from the experience. High frequencies were pretty crisp throughout testing
– Audio was clear and bass was truly immense. I experienced no distortion at high volumes and audio still remained crisp and clear, thanks to some amazing engineering and the two 50 mm neodymium drivers that this headset packs.
– Using the headset to take a call was also a pleasure and the audio was quite clear. The microphone worked a charm as the person on the other end of the call was able to hear me clearly with no disruptions.
