And the last chapter as promised.
Back to the place with whom we had fallen in love with.

The city that’s “So Good They Named It Twice - New York, New York”

This part happened before the events in D.C. and Miami ans MSP because we wanted to save the best for last.

This city had marked us for life.
Everybody asked us how is it.
Usually the answer is “like in the movies”.
But i had a different approach:

If you ever wondered if there is magic in the world, this is one example. And not only that, it is also very much alive !

Everything is of extremes.
Good chaos per say.
Old buildings near tall and supreme sky scrapers.
Walk further we arrived in Little Italy and China Town which are completely different worlds.
Cross this then back again into the urban madness.

Then massive cathedrals.
Boom, then you’re in Soho, high premium residential area, then full of parks like small oasis.
Noise until you enter them and experience tranquility and see how everybody is getting a tan or relaxing.
Epic !

Of course, than Central Park which is enormous.
We couldn’t do it in one go.
It’s 60-70 blocks long and has a surface of over 900 acres !

Time to militarize.
Got a map and divided the city to maximize our time and make sure we will see as much as we can.

Basically, per day we went in a different cardinal point, our ground zero being Times Square were we had our hotel.
We destroyed 2 pairs of shoes each just from walking so much !

Let’s roll.

This chapter is so big that we had to divide it into sub chapters, so get ready for an avalanche of pictures and movies.

Since our first arrival here, we had to search to find good prices to stay.
But now he had done our homework and booked everything ahead of time and i think we choose the best outcome.
For example, a regular room but near JFK airport which is at least 40 minute / 1 hour by subway from Manhattan, was like 60-70 $ per night.

We found 90 $ per night but here :

Where it said Kodak, behind the brown building.
With a view into Times Square - the heart of the city.

Ultra win-win.

Hotel “Carter” was our savior.

After each day of conquering we just came back here to rest and tried to understand and assimilate what laid in front of our eyes.

The city is like a chess board.
Everything is perfectly distributed.
No way of getting lost.
Compered to Europe for example, where is like a spaghetti maze, this was a piece of cake.
The streets on the Y axis were number from 1 to 160 i think, ending in the Bronx.
And the X axis are Avenues, total of 7 and the only diagonal is the famous Broadway.

Who likes Nickelback ?

The famous Flatiron Building.

Their ‘small’ post office.

The legendary Empire State Building.
Back to her in a while.

The Crysler Building.

Rockefeller Plaza or usually know as the ‘The Rock’.

The place for the comedy TV show, “30 Rock”.

Bryant Park.

Back in Central Park.
Unreal, they have a road that wide it’s like a highway inside of it and you have stop signs because so many people are jogging cycling etc and not to get run over.

Couldn’t accomplish it in that day so we headed back.
Night was also upon us.

Here you can have a few seconds of fame, the offer then was if you buy some clothes at a given price, you will get your picture taken and have it here.
:)

So this was Day 1.
Left in the morning came back at night exhausted.
Next day all over again.

So far we had seen Times Square, Central Park (a part of it), Bryant Park and some random neighborhooded areas.
It’s a mirage, everything looks so close, you say ah yes there is the Empire State Building but before you get to it, it takes you over an hour of walking. Because they are so tall.

NY is purely epic.
One massive overlord of the senses.

Short commercial break and we will be back. :)
