So, after the seaside trip now let’s go up to the mountains.
This time no rush, no more forgotten dates etc.
Beautiful weather all around.
All was good…besides the Final Destination scare.

Near Valea Prahovei there where doing construction work.
We waited for so long that Adrian fell asleep.

Finally we arrived at our detination - Poiana Brasov.

No hanging around and we went straight into nature because it was so nice outside.
Took the telefery.

Amazing view. So peaceful.

We hiked on the way down.
Adrian in zen mode in every break, YODA style.

We found some mini furballs.

A little insolation after, we got bored and started some movies.

Day 1 ended quite peacefully.
Not our style but things we’re about to change dramatically the next day.

We started day 2 with some more exploring.
Then we saw the Caraiman Cross.
That was our next objective.

Got a very big and good lunch, luckily we took some to go because practically it will save our lives in a few hours.
:)

Added some water and a few sweets. But nothing to carry them with.
The only backpack we could find in a near shop was this: a Harry Potter one.

Perfect.
Hipster mode activated.

Got to a new teleferry and slowly climbed.

And did it via Star Trek.

Freaking beautiful.

I’ve found a cow’s bell and transformed into Jet Li.

And Adrian, “…come with me if you want to live”.

We reached our objective, ascent complete.

A whole new Zen level achieved.

As they say, the calm before the storm
The same for us, it got quiet.
Too quiet.

We heard some screams.
Then some people up the hills running.
Didn’t take much to realize that they were hurrying to the last trip down.
In 10 minutes.. we couldn’t catch that even if we we’re Usain Bolt; had like 2-3 km to run, on a mountain.
No sir, we stayed and enjoyed the view.

After this, what to do.
To go straight, nope. Big cliff.
Ok, let’s go back and hike down … somehow.
:)

Gradually, the landscape transformed from vegetation into rocks.

Big freaking rocks.

Up until craters difficulty.

In some areas we had to climb down using our belts and connect them.
Bear Grylls style.

At a remote cabin, we took a break, that extra food if you remember, now, it saved us.
Got some water from a river and got back on the trip.

We felt like Frodo and Sam, going to Mordor.
Before this Adrian said to me, “…don’t worry man, it’s easy, I’ve been there some time ago.”
Yeah right, he didn’t say he did it, just he was here. :)

Soon darkness came.
We we’re still in the middle of nowhere.
The voice of reason from Adrian spoke: “what the hell are we doing hear, man?!”
:)

What saved us was the my phone had an LED light but it only stayed on if i filmed.
So we made our own version of the Blair Witch Project movie.
It was 43 minutes long.
Very creepy stuff on it.
Here are some parts.

From then on I only bought phones that i can use the LED as a flashlight. A life saver.
We completely lost track of time, the battery was empty just in time to take one final epic and ironic picture.

(Translation: Extremely dangerous path, not for those without proper gear, closed between xx -xx, don’t travel at night, for rescue call.. etc )

“No sh!t Sherlock !” .. we said, we we’re equipped with a Harry Potter back pack and some chicken breast.

We could her the city and saw some lights and we made it, alive.
Descent completed.

We sat on a bench and laugh after the whole adventure.
A couple come to us:
“Where is the road to … ?”

And i respond firmly but i complety misunderstood the question:

”… we come from the cross !”
And pointed “Yes, we come from there !”.

They left the next second, i could hear them “Let’s go quickly”.
Adrian was LOL on the ground. :)

A little walk to our hotel.
The receptionist was so relived to see us.
“So glad you are back, i wanted to call the police”.
What?!

It was 2 am ! we soon realized.
We told her when first checked in that maybe we will want one more night after we get back and left our luggage in her office.
So now it makes sense why she got scared.

We excused us and told her that we forgot we went to a club or something.
:)
We took another night because we were zombies.
And thus another adventure concludes.

Until next time.
