Remember when we thought that we couldn’t find anything more beautiful than Brixham?

We we’re going to be proved … wrong.
Very wrong.
:)

Thus the next weekend came and like a miracle only sunshine in exactly every Saturday so far, we set off once again.

Our destination: Darthmouth

How we pick ‘em?
We just look at the map and say.. yeah, this sounds interesting.
So we have no clue what to expect, sometime life is about the journey and not necessary the destination.

And the name made this one to seam that it’s a setting from Lord Of The Rings - let’s go fight some spawns of the undead and orcs.

Right.

First, i took Adrian to show him were i work in the next town, Paignton, especially what view i have.

Our little car has a sunroof !
Never had one of those.
Perfect time to use it.

And just wow, you can’t get bored here, the roads are excellent for driving pleasure, a bit tight but you get used to it.
We preferred these instead of highways just because it makes everything more interesting.
And we were right.

Respect for these guys and the fact that they are like twice our age.

Here is one example of how tight some side roads can become and this is a two way road !
Usually, who gets there first and the other one backs up if we meet.

There are some extra wide spots to let the other pass.
Everybody is extra friendly and nice and know these things so no problems even if you are a first time traveler here.

And i mean it, in two months of driving i didn’t witness as much as a single car horn !
So yeah, life here is at a different rhythm.

So at the end of Alice’s Rabbit Hole, we emerged and saw our destination.
OMFG !!!
I leave you with our uncensored reaction - watch it until the end.
Even what we were listening was in tune with the epicness we were about to witness.

Parked and realized that Apocalypse was happening at the horizon.
Even better we found out that there is a steam engine train that we can take from Paignton and it will bring us here, so that will be an amazing sightseeing.
We put it on our list.

And just behold what beauty this town hides which is split into two.
It also has a lot of history, from this port 485 ships left off for the invasion of Normandy in D-Day.
