Ok, let’s get back to what we do best: traveling.
We started to do this since the first weeks since we got here and didn’t stop until we moved, from the last episode.
So a long journey awaits to be told.
Let’s start with our town - Torquay
A tourist attraction and a city port and by the looks of it, safe from the typical wet and rainy British weather.
I mean in 6 months we only had sunshine and maybe combined a total of 1 or 2 weeks of rain.
So it is a main choice for those who like to visit and/or retire.
And they don’t know what snow is, it never get’s here that cold.
This was in January.
That’s why here everybody has a convertible and a boat.
Mazda MX-5 for example i think it’s the most common car here.
Me and Adrian had a game where we counted how many of these we will see in day.
We lost count we reached like 120 in just a week.
Because of the early MOT and good owners, 95 % of all cars are in excellent, old or new, doesn’t matter.
I mean i really tired to find ‘bad’ cars which were in legal form.
It is a “town” (they say city to the big ones and everybody will correct you), not very big but very divers and beautiful.
Ah and on that subject, they say “dinner” to “lunch” and “tea” to “dinner”.
Why is it important?
Me and Adrian we were at a pub and they asked us “would you like tea”?
We said yes, couldn’t hurt to drink some hot tea.
Then we got 2 big plates of sausages, chips and bacon and mushrooms.
That was the special of day on “tea” menu.
So you see now.
Let’s continue.
The city center is a long walk full of shops, pubs and stores.
This is a clip from January, exactly when we first came here and back in our country is was snowing and really bad weather.
And here it was the opposite.
It was supposed to the other way around.
So, very nice.
The area ends with Torquay Strand - the main bus hub connection and of course here we also have the Torquay Marina. Even more pubs, restaurants, clubs and things to do.
Death, taxes and my E34.
On second thought, i think this is death’s car along side a ’69 Dodge Charger.
When it’s full season and sunny, it’s like Times Square here, everybody is outside.
Here we have the “upper” residential areas.
Very beautiful and peaceful.
Even to the normal ones we can only say “wow”.
And the city is located on many hills and cliffs, like San Francisco, thus we have some excellent views.
Too much urban?
No problem, the have so much nature it’s unbelievable.
One good reservation is the Cockington Country Park
Not only it’s big, it has palm trees and jungle vegetation !?
Tranquility achieved.
And the icing on the cake, we have - beaches.
And plenty of them.
So you can see we have everything here, beaches, nature, hills, views etc.
To be continued !
