Before this post we did a few more small trips and will cover them later on.

Last year was a total blast.
But we had to end it with a bang.

Thus we decided to find something even more memorable.
Time will show us that this will be our last trip for a while because life intervened to show us that you should live in the moment because you may never get another chance - and we had a lot of things to sort out - winter was coming ! :)
But more on that later.

Like we said over and over again, we can’t stop to wonder how can we manage to surpass our previous achievements, i mean it’s really hard to find things so beautiful over and over again.

We did just that believe it or not and boy oh boy what wonders awaited us.

This is out longest and farthest journey to date !
One full week of non stop traveling, amazement and road trips.
Almost 2000 miles ! (~3200 km)

This is my dream came true - travel until there is no more land.

Our objective - the land of William Wallace - SCOTLAND !

A lot of key points we wanted to visit - the first on our list is the capital - Edinburgh.

Right.
I changed the oil for our small bubble car so it’s apt for the journey.

Then we made the mother of all sandwiches - Death by fat we called them.
Later that day i think i had a stroke of so much fat but at least we weren’t never hungry.

And here Adrian was describing that you loose one year of life per each sandwich eaten.

We went off.

Filled up the car - this scene makes a reference when we had a football match from Steaua Bucharest and everybody was cheering for the striker Dica.

Of course the adventures started as soon as we left our city - we found out that they were doing construction work on all of our routes. Perfect …

From 7 hours we will eventually reach it in 12-13.

Not much to show until we eventually reached our destination because of the traffic jams.

We had to call the hotel to let them know that we were going to be very late and it appeared they had no staff at that hour so ..how are we going to get in ? Eventually we sort it out - this or we had to sleep in the car.

At the outskirts of Scotland there was such a heavy rain that we had to stop on the emergency lane, the small car couldn’t take that much rain and the wipers couldn’t keep up.

We eventually reached safe and sound after almost 14 hours of driving.

Next morning we woke up to this - we had begun so we will see you on the other side.

As you can see the whether was in our favor and the sun was so bright.
No point for me to tell you over and over again how wonderful this city is - you can judge by yourselves.

First stop was the Dugald Stewart Monument on Calton Hill.
Here also we will see the National Monument of Scotland and The Nelson Monument.

Form here the view is spectacular, you can see the whole city.

The hill was conquered.
Back to the city.

We withdraw some cash.
And although in Scotland you can use the British pound, they still have their own money.

Next stop was the Sir Walter Scott Monument.

Or Sauron’s Tower how i nicknamed it.
Just look at it.
Of course we climbed it.
Just amazing what views we experienced.
And almost as we reached the top the whether changed, high mist, high winds, started to rain and even a rainbow.
All of these in 5 minutes.
Epic.

We saw our fist stop.

And the weather changes.

Took some shelter inside.

Emerged again and voila !
The sun is back again.
We went to Narnia or something.

After these pictures, we turned around and saw the Scottish National Gallery.
Which was celebrating 25 years of Contemporary Art.

Then we found out were all the people in the marathon were coming from.
And also so our next point of interest.

One of the most well preserved and well known and famous castles in Scotland - Edinburgh Castle

Purly epic !

We thought the day was over.
No sir, more to come.
As we exited the castle, we discovered the Royal Mile - full of shops and cathedrals.

And of course:

Dafuq?!

Anyway, … St Giles’ Cathedral
We felt like home here.

And we ended the day with a gigantic walk up the biggest hill in the city, to Arthur’s’ Seat.
At this point we had no more energy.
But as the sun was going down, we couldn’t miss it and to enjoy one of the best panoramic views of the city.

When we finally reached it, we never experienced so much wind in our lives, we were literally hanging on for our lives at that point.
I also left the background noise wind so you can get a better perspective.

Such and epic day we had !
And this was just the beginning !

Stay tuned … a lot more to come.
