According to a recent report, Intel may delay the launch of the 10nm Cannonlake platform and instead go with the 14nm Kaby Lake family of processors to succeed Skylake.
Even though Kaby Lake will launch after Skylake is launched, it isnât going to be very different from Skylake. Based on the info available through Chinese website benchlife, Kaby Lake will be quite similar to Skylake.
The Kaby Lake processor lineup will include U-processor and Y-processor line that will be using the Skylake PCH die, and the H- and S- processor line offered in a 2-chip platform. The H-line processors will also be connected to a discrete Skylake PCH chip, while the S- processor line will connect to a discrete Kaby Lake PCH chip on the motherboard.
Kaby Lake for desktop will offer USB 3.1 and DDR4 support while notebooks will see USB 3.0 and DDR3 memory support.
